Year Round Field Staff Position with Opportunity as Winter Crew Lead
SummaryScott's Quality Lawn Care is looking for an ambitious and physically fit individual to fill an important role on our field staff year round! Ideally you would start immediately on our lawn mowing crew at $21/hr and then transition to our snow removal crew. We are looking for an individual with the capabilities of running a 2-3 person (including yourself) snow removal crew during the winter season. Your short time on the lawn mowing crew will essentially be your tryout for the snow removal crew whether that be an hourly position, or more ideally a salaried crew leader position. Here's a brief summary on each of the two positions that we'd like someone to hold year round: Lawn Mowing Crew MemberYou will of course be starting with us in September, but to give you a general idea of what an entire season looks like: Typical hours on the mowing crew are about 9-10 hours and 4 days per week, however during the first 2-3 weeks of the spring we typically work 6 days per week with an average of 10 hour days. Once we are into our mowing season the normal 4 day per week schedule kicks in where we aim to work Monday through Thursday. This is advantageous because our employees typically earn overtime pay and enjoy a 3 day weekend if we finish our weekly mowing in time. We will of course work to catch up on Friday, Saturday or Sunday if needed. During the weekly mowing part of the season it's typical to work one Friday per month and maybe a Saturday once a season. To date, we have never worked a Sunday during the weekly mowing portion of the season. As mentioned, we do plan to work weekends during spring clean-ups and possibly some during fall clean-ups as well, but generally speaking during the mowing season, you will enjoy a 4 day work week. |

Residential Snow Removal Crew Leader
You and your partner will be responsible for approximately 35 residential (or small commercial) snow removal clients. This job is physically demanding and difficult at times so you must be in very good physical condition. You will work when it snows so you must be watching your phone and be able to make it into work at a moment's notice. With a "work when it snows" type of schedule this will result in a good number of days off, but the hours worked will be very sporadic. This position typically averages about 20 hours per week. Of course there will be some weeks where you won't work at all and weeks where you may work everyday. Some days will be easy and enjoyable, whereas other days will test you physically and mentally. The starting pay for the Crew Leader position is $3,165 per month. There are additional opportunities for bonuses each month too.

You must be available everyday during the 6 month period with the exception of Christmas Day as this is the only day that we do not guarantee our service to our clients. If it snows on Christmas Day, we go out the following day.
Crew Leaders will also be allotted two weekends off per snow season which they may have off regardless of snow fall. You will be granted an opportunity to select one weekend off subject to approval/availability and then a second one in the New Year provided that you have not missed any days or been late for work.
Scott's Quality Lawn Care also offers a full benefits package after 3 months of employment (not available to seasonal workers). We also reward our field staff with bonuses each month based on performance! You will enjoy other perks too such as some discounted and free services. We are a fast paced and growing company with opportunity for advancement!
Ultimately, we are looking for more members for our management team in 1-3 years time so working as a field staff member is the perfect place to start. Maybe management isn't for you and you'd prefer to work as a long time field staff member. Whatever your goals are, we would love to meet you and see how you could be a fit with our company!
